CBA Events

 

In a one bedroom flat in Bowness on Windermere in 2001, with dial up internet and a client base of zero, I launched CBA Events.  Running the business single handed for the first 5 years, the business grew and so too did the team.  In 2019 we were a full time team of 12 and CBA Events had been involved in more than 10,000 meetings and events across the UK and throughout Europe.

In March 2020 the shape of the events industry changed considerably and so too did CBA Events.  Tim and I took stock and after many months of deliberation we reached the difficult decision to slow down a little and work with a select few long-standing clients.  Covid presented opportunities that we hadn’t otherwise had the chance or time to realise, and so we started to remove ourselves from the crowd and spend more of our time at home in the Lakes by forming Graythwaite Adventure.

CBA Events has provided us with the most wonderful 20+ years of running businesses in the fast paced, not always so glamourous, challenging, exciting, and forever moving events industry.  We’ve been finalists in national awards, winners in others, have met and worked with some fabulous and interesting people, been to places we would never have been to otherwise, stayed in some of the most exquisite hotels along with questionable establishments – we’ve loved the experience of each equally.

So whilst we’re a much smaller team, Tim and I have over 60 years combined working in conferences and events, hospitality, team building and AV / production, from big budgets to small spends.  We continue to work with a team of reliable event partners and freelancers whom we’ve known for a long time, and continue to support us when we need them.
